8:25 am	Paranoid Android used to remind an ex-girlfriend of me, never found out why And you know who you are, but I doubt you will ever read this. I got home today, feeling fine. I go on to this colaborative blog that I am a member of. And I listen to this song. And I bet you all understand this song. I know that everyone feels like the song is sympathized with them. BUt when I listened to it, it reminded me of a time, about four years ago the next february. I downloaded a song from Matt, I had dial up so it was taking a long time and I went to take a bath, because we didn't have a working shower. I get out, the song has downloaded and I play it. "JUst Like You Imagined" the String Quartet version. I was still warm and damp from the bath, I was looking at a picture of a sunset I took from when I was still living in colorado. And just like this morning, it felt like someone was ripping the emotion from me. Though I did a better job of keeping it this time, it still makes me wonder what I am missing. What I should really be looking for. All of you who have most of what you want and need, who know what you are looking for. You should be happy, and I'm glad you are. And to that ex-girlfriend, I just want you to know that I wish that you, above all are happy. And I hope that all those who haze the people that I care about get their just rewards in the end. 9:09 am	So I did some thinking Everybody is falling in love and finding someone and getting married or already is. A lot of my friends have kids now and I a few years ago I felt left behind. And now all I feel is happyness for them. I think it would be nice to be in a relationship but I don't think it;s good to be ina medicore relationship with someone that I don't care for as much as I should. Looking at Erin and me, it couldn't have lasted. It's not that we are different or anythnig. It's just something that I look at and well, we're both better people to not be together. And I wish her the best of luck in all her endeavors. i hope she finds someone that she deserves and that someone that deserves her. I think of what my future wife might be like and I always draw a blank. I don't know if I am going to get married, so thihnking who I can marry is a little obscure to me. And there are also things about life I should learn so that I can teach what children I may have them. because I didn;t have that, and I want my kids to have what I didn't have. An honest, hard working and loving father for one. I want my kids to have those traits as well. But above all I want them to be the most of what they are. And I know I can;t push them into it but I can lead them. 9:50 am	I always liked the sixties and seventies, I realise that a lot of it has been romanticisized but I would love to go back and live in those times for a while. They seem to be a bit more social times. I'd like to see Jimi Hendrix live and Black Sabbath in their hey day. I think the most tremendous thing I ever witnessed was Black Sabbath playing, "The Wizard" live. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYDwZwiKiFE It was something like that but not quite the same. THis was seven years ago at Ozzfest 2001, I had bought a zippo lighter, it might have been during this song but we all pulled our lighters out. And when mine lit, after a few seconds, the whole entire top was engulfed in flames, I was holding it by it's lid at this point because it was getting hot and finally after the song finished I put it away. I think about that and how stupid I guess I am for not putting it out earlier but what the hell, I was 17 and nothing bad happened. THe whole entire day was outrageous though I didn't get to see some of the bands I really wanted to see. I missed the second stage completely. But oh well, most of those bands I don't listen to anymore anyways. I really do prefer the music of the sixties and seventies over anything, they're more stripped down and they have that organic and dirty feel to them and that is how rock and roll, in my mind, is supposed to be. But here I am going off about music again. I've been meaning to go to the movies, I don't go often because nothing really excites me anymore. I do like going to them though. I saw I Am Legend in theaters because I read the book, several times. I can understand why they would change a lot of things because the book it's self was written fifty years ago, but even today it's still in print and being sold. That has to account for something. I would prefer a boring movie rather an action packed movie in this case. The differences were just so damned distracting to me. And it was an alright movie, I would have enjoyed it had I never read the book or had I not known that the movie was only loosely based on it and they removed more of the references to the book. THat way I could have made a better version within a decade ;-D. I also saw The Eye which was completely against my will. Not really. It didn't interest me other than the fact that Jessica ALba was in it. It could have been alright if they just would have changed a few things with it but I suppose the problem with making things like this is that you don't know what will and won't work and refilming can cost a lot of money. Sometimes I just want to take a camera and a bunch of people and make a 20 minute short. I think that I could do a whole story just based on the crazy shit that happens at the store I work at. We have some great conversations sometimes. my boss was telling me about this conversation with his wife. "I want a midget" "What? What do you want a midget for?" "SO I can hold it and pet it and love it..." "Why don;t you just get a dog?" "Man everyone has a dog." I think there's more to it but you get the idea. he comes up with some funny stuff sometimes. 1:14 pm	ALl hopped up on the 'roids. THis shit is making me all hyoper but I am getting sleepy but it;s like i;m wiggling my feet and doing stuff with my hands like typing. And as I;m doing this i am updating the music on my myspace page because some of the tracks stopped working and the veins are popping the fuck out of my hands. I am som damn miserable right now you know mang? RIght now I am adding Dethklok songs to it because dethklok rules. ANd maaaaaan I watchted that damn animated Superman: Doomsday movie and it sucked. Horribly! I can;t believe how wrong they got it, I could have done a better job but the WB wouldn;t want to foot the damn bill. Assholes. I need to startmaking movies because they are making me just lash out in pain. I don;t remember the last time I saw a decent adaptation and it;s driving me insane. SO anyways as it turns out, I don;t have prescription coverage and that is crap. I wait so long for this, and then all the sudden I;m going into a walk in clinic and being fed prescriptions I can;t afford. The steroid pills were 4 bucks though thankfully. 3:57 pm	I would not like to say anything :-D A man who loves pajamas? Sorry bad joke. I'm surprised you got through my random jibber jabber, but then again some people think I should do it more often, but in journal form. The truth of the matter is that it's different to try to ramble rather than just doing it when you're bored. Sometimes I facilitate a whole conversation myself, which I think is funny but either it isn't or people just don't get the joke. So what kind of music is in your regular rotation? I usually listen to stoner rock or heavy metal. It depends on what kind of mood I'm in but usually I'm listening to Monster Magnet, Black Sabbath, Fireball Ministry or megadeth and Metallica. But old metallica. The first five albums are great but after that it just got ridiculous. I sometimes listen to R&B and hip hop, and jazz but again, it depends on what kind of mood I'm in. I also like some folk but I hate country. Except for Johnny Cash but I don't consider a lot of his music country. I like a lot of the covers he's done, like "I Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty. And I actually like the older stuff more, technically. And I feel that as things progress music begins to sound cleaner which I believe is something that most music shouldn't sound. It all feels like a big mound of plastic, digital trite. Real Music is made in both good times and bad times and when you have something like that it doesn't always look right to most people and it especially isn't clean. But most of the music in the past five years or so seems to be too similar. Sure When Thrash, Death Metal, Heavy Metal and Rock and Roll came around there were a whole bunch of bands that were doing the same things but I think of that as more musical evolution as most of the good bands are still around. While the lesser, untalented bands are gone. And not everyone did it as similar as Nickelback and Puddle of Mudd seem to sound. Voivod is a thrash band that no one has really heard of and they've had their time in the limelight here and there but they definitely don't sound like Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, or Slayer, the big four of thrash metal. The only reason, I think, it isn't the big five is because Voivod's music never appealed to a wider audience. But they are still a talented band with their own thing going on. And I think they did a lot better when they got Ex-bassist of Metallica, Jason Newsted. And of course Saliva and Nickelback do sound different but their style is way too similar. While Saliva's vocalist seems to rap more than Nickelback does, technically speaking, they sound the same. it's like the musicians of the band are the same. It isn't just these three bands either. And my friend, Matt, agrees with me on this. He's a graduate from the Berkelee school of music and he says that the record companies want the bands to not explore, to not show any kind of variation or anything. Because they want the people listening to the music to feel like they can play/sing it. And that's bullshit thinking that you have to appeal to the lowest common denominator. THere's a reason why bands become popular, because they are talented and special in comparison to their peers. If everything sounded the same then there wouldn't be any reason to play music. Could you imagine? But I guess not ALL the modern music is the same. I listened to some of the music of my friend, Jelly, and they're kind of varied but they don't really have that thing that I look for. It's nothing specifically but there has to be this twinge in it. This sharpness that I can take from it. The words to me aren't that important but I like it when a band's lyrics are creative, introspective, have something worth saying or tell a good story. That's why i stopped listening to Monster Magnet as much as I used to though. They are a very talented band who do tremendous covers and have some great songs but sometimes it seems like they just throw things together. "Where the hell does grease up your baby come from?" THey do this great cover of Iggy Pop and the Stooges' "Gimme' Danger." It's one of the best covers I ever heard and I like it better than the original. And that's something to me, there's only a few cases in which I prefer the cover over the original. Other Examples would be Henry ROllins and Bad Brains cover of "Kick Out the jams," as well as the two seperate covers of "Electric Funeral" that Pantera and Iced Earth did. With all due respect to Black Sabbath, they are one of my favorite bands, "Electric Funeral" isn't my most favored of their songs and they seemed to have figured the song out a little better than Black Sabbath did.
