"JUst Like You Imagined" the String Quartet version. I was still warm and damp from the bath, I was looking at a picture of a sunset I took from when I was still living in colorado. A lot of my friends have kids now and I a few years ago I felt left behind. And now all I feel is happyness for them. I think about that and how stupid I guess I am for not putting it out earlier but what the hell, I was 17 and nothing bad happened. THe whole entire day was outrageous though I didn't get to see some of the bands I really wanted to see. I missed the second stage completely. But oh well, most of those bands I don't listen to anymore anyways. I really do prefer the music of the sixties and seventies over anything, they're more stripped down and they have that organic and dirty feel to them and that is how rock and roll, in my mind, is supposed to be. But here I am going off about music again. I've been meaning to go to the movies, I don't go often because nothing really excites me anymore. I do like going to them though. I saw I Am Legend in theaters because I read the book, several times. I can understand why they would change a lot of things because the book it's self was written fifty years ago, but even today it's still in print and being sold. That has to account for something. I would prefer a boring movie rather an action packed movie in this case. The differences were just so damned distracting to me. And it was an alright movie, I would have enjoyed it had I never read the book or had I not known that the movie was only loosely based on it and they removed more of the references to the book. THat way I could have made a better version within a decade ;-D. I also saw The Eye which was completely against my will. Not really. It didn't interest me other than the fact that Jessica ALba was in it. It could have been alright if they just would have changed a few things with it but I suppose the problem with making things like this is that you don't know what will and won't work and refilming can cost a lot of money. The truth of the matter is that it's different to try to ramble rather than just doing it when you're bored. Sometimes I facilitate a whole conversation myself, which I think is funny but either it isn't or people just don't get the joke. So what kind of music is in your regular rotation? I usually listen to stoner rock or heavy metal. It depends on what kind of mood I'm in but usually I'm listening to Monster Magnet, Black Sabbath, Fireball Ministry or megadeth and Metallica. But old metallica. The first five albums are great but after that it just got ridiculous. I sometimes listen to R&B and hip hop, and jazz but again, it depends on what kind of mood I'm in. I also like some folk but I hate country. Except for Johnny Cash but I don't consider a lot of his music country. I like a lot of the covers he's done, like "I Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty. And I actually like the older stuff more, technically. And I feel that as things progress music begins to sound cleaner which I believe is something that most music shouldn't sound. It all feels like a big mound of plastic, digital trite. Real Music is made in both good times and bad times and when you have something like that it doesn't always look right to most people and it especially isn't clean. But most of the music in the past five years or so seems to be too similar. Sure When Thrash, Death Metal, Heavy Metal and Rock and Roll came around there were a whole bunch of bands that were doing the same things but I think of that as more musical evolution as most of the good bands are still around. While the lesser, untalented bands are gone. And not everyone did it as similar as Nickelback and Puddle of Mudd seem to sound. Voivod is a thrash band that no one has really heard of and they've had their time in the limelight here and there but they definitely don't sound like Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, or Slayer, the big four of thrash metal. The only reason, I think, it isn't the big five is because Voivod's music never appealed to a wider audience. But they are still a talented band with their own thing going on. And I think they did a lot better when they got Ex-bassist of Metallica, Jason Newsted. And of course Saliva and Nickelback do sound different but their style is way too similar. While Saliva's vocalist seems to rap more than Nickelback does, technically speaking, they sound the same. it's like the musicians of the band are the same. It isn't just these three bands either. And my friend, Matt, agrees with me on this. He's a graduate from the Berkelee school of music and he says that the record companies want the bands to not explore, to not show any kind of variation or anything. Because they want the people listening to the music to feel like they can play/sing it. And that's bullshit thinking that you have to appeal to the lowest common denominator. THere's a reason why bands become popular, because they are talented and special in comparison to their peers. If everything sounded the same then there wouldn't be any reason to play music. Could you imagine? But I guess not ALL the modern music is the same. I listened to some of the music of my friend, Jelly, and they're kind of varied but they don't really have that thing that I look for. It's nothing specifically but there has to be this twinge in it. This sharpness that I can take from it. The words to me aren't that important but I like it when a band's lyrics are creative, introspective, have something worth saying or tell a good story. That's why i stopped listening to Monster Magnet as much as I used to though. They are a very talented band who do tremendous covers and have some great songs but sometimes it seems like they just throw things together. "Where the hell does grease up your baby come from?" THey do this great cover of Iggy Pop and the Stooges' "Gimme' Danger." It's one of the best covers I ever heard and I like it better than the original. And that's something to me, there's only a few cases in which I prefer the cover over the original. Other Examples would be Henry ROllins and Bad Brains cover of "Kick Out the jams," as well as the two seperate covers of "Electric Funeral" that Pantera and Iced Earth did. With all due respect to Black Sabbath, they are one of my favorite bands, "Electric Funeral" isn't my most favored of their songs and they seemed to have figured the song out a little better than Black Sabbath did. What happened was I was having friends over and I didn't want to offend them with my manhood. So I got a pair of blue and green flannel bottoms with ducks on them. They are no more but man I miss those ducks. Well you know it became a habit and so now I have three pairs. Black and red AC/DC bottoms, blue and gray flannel and blue pepsi cola bottoms. I like pepsi you see so I think it's cool for me to at the very least wear pajamas with the product on it. So therefor it doesn't betray my hardcoreness. See I used to sleep in my boxers or naked or just wearing pants. I thought my friends would think that was weird though. And it probably is and they ended up thinking that because it eventually came out. I didn't always used to be able to sleep naked as for a few years I slept in the living room with three other people in a one bedroom apartment. It just kept on getting smaller and smaller and so did I, psycholigically. That's where I lived when I moved here, pagoda Apartments in the harding area. next to that new wal mart. Before tennessee I lived in my childhood home in Firestone, Colorado. I lived with my brother, his girlfriend and her kids. We had alot of fun but I lost my job, didn't have my license at the time and I didn't want to become a strain on them. You see my Mom moved to Tennessee the summer before I did. Today I am helping taking care of my sister and working nights trying to pull overtime, because let's face it, I'm not a social butterfly and I get bored easily even though my job is fairly boring now. I haven't cut my hair in more than a year. I think I've given up. I still brush my teeth every evening but the one is still falling apart more and more. I can't wait for the new year. I'll have my benefits. <br /><br />Speaking of new years and old years. I'm not happy with how this one is going to end. I was happy with how it started though and how the last one ended. Loss is something I;m just going to have to accept (like I ahven;t had to do that before.) I did do a lot in 2007. I made friends. did things, went place and throughout all of it I maintained to be myself. I;m no saint, and I'm not the biggest sinner. But I am Josh Zuege. Maybe not in birth but from when I became Josh Zuege, to when I will die. I will always be me and I will never ever compromise that. I've never hurt anyone being me, I always hurt someone when I was not being myself. I never liked hurting anyone. No matter how much I disliked them. And for every drop of tear that someone squeezed out because of me is going to be the whirlwind I will someday reap. I have no problem with paying for the bad things I did, or paying for the good intentions I had.<br /><br />Two weeks ago I went to a doctor for the first time in a decade. They basically made me breath medicine through a machine twice which made my throat feel worse. They then said to take these drugs, your tonsils are swollen and we like to lift people's shirts up and put objects on their pale skin. I adlibbed the last part It was a sliding scale clinic. There were a lot of people that were obviously worse off than me, like, everyone. And a few of them were obviously crazy. I don't know what was wrong with them. One old man looked very distressed. He was making these upset noises and he ate a piece of string. he was really skinny too. Another man kept on shaking his head and making popping sounds with his mouth. Just swinging back and fourth. A third man, who I think was the most interesting. Honked, burped, and made bird calls I would say they were. Sometimes he sounded like a cellular phone. Anyways I feel better but I still get that crud in the morning but I feel a lot better. It's also been warm lately, well warmer. For the past few days it;s rained on and off and there's been mild wind. Driving the mustang through it isn't so bad but that thing is falling apart and I can feel it. After it rains I see the rainbows in the pavement. The rainbows made by mixing oils and water. Like when I was a kid and I used tyo grab a handfull of my grandmother's bath oil packets and find the biggest puddle I could find. I would squirt the purple packets on their and watch the colors. <br /> <br />A weak and a half ago. A saturday, I went to the mall and met up with my friend and coworker, Randy. We bullshitted around the mall a bit. met up with an exgirlfriend of his who is pregnant and just gave birth a few days ago. We talked to her a bit and I looked at the t shirts in the hot topic that I never buy but still I go half out of habit and half out of hope they will have something that appeals to my sensibilities. I decided however, that I am just too old to enjoy a place like that. It;s for kids who have no bigger problems than who they should make out with on the weekend. Randy and I then went to the arcade and played Time Chasers 2 which we beat with many a token and a few rousing rounds of air hockey. The fucking puck flew across the room and we were convinced that had their been a lot of people in the area, there would have been a fight/injury/assault and battery sharge. Randy hit it with the most force which knocked behind the star treck game that I never have any interest in what so ever. It was a fun night and afterwords I had tacos. My arm hurt like hell and I still had to work, but all in all nice. <br /><br />Last monday I went to logan;s with my mom and sister. As we tend to do. Logan;s rocks. I had my monday off special. A double capn morgan and coke with a lime. I also decided on this meal with shrimp steak and sausage. I gave the sausage to my mom and she gave me the grilled chicken from her salad. we had plenty of leftovers that lasted me the night. I spent the night watching bits and pieces of super bad (because I have no patience to watch a movie by myself anymore,) and playing video games. <br /><br />Last night while going into work, my friend and coworker, Jeff (Spider-Man,) made me an offer that I at first didn't want, but in the end couldn't refuse. It started off with. "How tall are you? Around six foot?" I don;t know if I am that tall. But I could be taller than that. Anyways he said that marvel is always looking for people to be their characters. He said that a guy my size could be the incredible hulk. At first I thought about it, then I joked about it. Then I said I'd do it if they wanted me to. I may not be able to take every job, but maybe some day I will be able to travel and possibly see some of my friends I would love to meet for the first, second, third but certainly not the last time. And I'm sure that the phrase, "hey baby, I'm the incredible hulk." WIll some day get me laid. If not for all the wrong reasons :-D<br /><br /><br />My mom and I also donated a phone card/toiletree package to a member of the armed services. I know that the charity i put forth here on earth won't get me into heaven, if there is one, but I still want to do good things before I die. And if I go to hell.
